I've come to expect loads of feels from Laramie Briscoe, but Hollow takes it to a whole new level. I also expect a gripping story with characters I feel like I know when I crack open a Laramie Briscoe book, and again, she doesn't disappoint. Mandy and Dalton took me on a journey that was both heartwrenching and hopeful. These characters are both flawed and being there as they faced those flaws felt so real it was sometimes hard to look at, but at the same time, I couldn't look away - I absolutely had to see how their story came out. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it. This book is just that compelling. At this point in the series, I've become invested in the Heaven Hill family, and blood or not, they are very much a family, so I may be biased, but I fell in love with this couple from word one. Speaking of the series, I would recommend reading the books in order so you understand everything that led to this point. The whole series is a brilliant combination of feels, steamy goodness, and characters you just can't get enough of.

Before I even started, I was certain that this book was going to be just like Mandy’s book in the series of short stories. It would leave me a bleeding, broken emotional mess but I needed to read it anyway. This book really surprised me because while there are lots of dramatic emotional moments, it’s lighter than I was expecting it to be. Throughout the story, there’s this sense of hope, that even if the sky is dark right now that it’ll be brighter again in the future. Mandy, Dalton, and Walker’s story is one of overcoming impossible odds, facing your demons and conquering them, and the power love has to accomplish anything. I still ended up a weepy crying mess in the end, but they were happy tears. And, I’m already dying to get my hands on the next book of the series.
